As one of the biggest councils in the country, with a proud tradition of delivering services and stable leadership, Durham County Council is facing the future with confidence. In its first 10 years as a unitary authority we have achieved a great deal. Our success has been delivered through strong leadership, creative thinking, partnership working and sheer passion for what we do.
This is an exciting time to be joining the Council – our ambition is to ensure County Durham is the best possible place to live and work and we are transforming the Council to deliver on this ambition.
A key priority for us is the health, wellbeing and education of our children and young people. Our Children and Young People management structure has recently been reviewed to further develop our services in these areas and we are looking to appoint a Head of Children’s Social Care to deliver outcomes that have a real and lasting impact.
To help us succeed, we are looking for candidates with strong and relevant experience who can bring about change via fresh ideas and determination. We require an individual who can work corporately, as you will play a major role in our improvement and transformation journey over the coming years. It is an exciting time to join Durham and we would be delighted to hear from inspiring senior managers who embody our values and commitment and are excited by the prospect of working with us to realise our ambitions.
(Relocation costs are also available for appointed candidates subject to certain criteria being met).
